Do you ever work long days, and then you look at the time and dread making dinner? That’s me this week, I start work when it’s dark outside and end work when it’s dark outside. I don’t necessarily want to be making dinner that will take FOREVER and so it’s nice to have these sorts of recipes on hand. You can avoid getting take out and feel good that you are nourishing your body with quality food and that it is flavour packed! This has been a staple in my household and I think it will be a fan favourite with yours! Give this a go and let me know how much you love it!
4 servings / 5 mins prep / 20 mins total time
Ingredients
1 tbsp vegetable oil
1 lb (454 g) extra lean ground beef
2 gloves garlic, grated
1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
1 onion, thinly sliced
1 cup (packed) thai basil leaves, roughly chopped
Sauce
2 tsp soy sauce
1 tsp dark soy sauce
1 tsp oyster sauce
1 tbsp fish sauce
½ tsp sugar
Directions
Heat a medium sized pan with vegetable oil over medium heat. Once hot, add your ground beef, garlic onion, and red pepper and cook until the beef is browned, and the onion is translucent, roughly 10 minutes.
Add the sauce components and stir fry until well coated and thickened, about 3 minutes. Add the Thai basil and continue to stir until the basil has wilted, around 1 minute.
Serve with rice, fried egg and garnish with green onion and sesame. Enjoy!

This actually works with ground pork and chicken too, having tried both before. I surmise a ground meat substitute would work for vegetarian/vegan eaters.
