I was at the grocery store this past weekend, down the cereal and grains aisle trying to pick up some granola for my yogurt parfaits this week. I was so disappointed in the lack of selection for granola. Maybe it’s supply chain issues which makes up the lack of selection, but nothing looked like a great granola to add to my yogurt. So that’s when it occurred to me to make my own. I’m not sure why I haven’t been making homemade granola but it’s so easy! This batch makes enough for a week and it tastes amazing! Ingredients that you have on hand, you know what’s going in and so addicting. This granola can be eaten straight off the pan (which I’m guilty for), its thats good! If you are also disappointed in the granola options lately, try making this recipe! You’ll be addicted just like me!
4 servings / 10 mins prep time / 45 mins total time
Ingredients
1½ cup oats
¼ cup maple syrup
¼ cup vegetable oil
1/3 cup brown sugar
½ tsp cinnamon
½ tsp salt
½ cup pecan pieces
Directions
Preheat oven to 325 °F.
In a medium sized bowl add the oats, cinnamon, salt and pecan pieces. Give a gentle toss and set aside.
In a pot over medium heat combine the vegetable oil, maple syrup and brown sugar and stir until incorporated. Pour over the oat mixture and mix until incorporated.
Lay on a baking sheet with parchment paper and bake until golden, about 30-35 minutes.
Allow to cool completely before breaking into pieces. Enjoy!

Good choice! While the prospect of granola from groceries is rather exciting, the food additives can definitely make you think twice. At least you know what goes into the homemade version.
